The next Tutor/Mentor Conference will be May 29 and
30, 2008. We hope that you will attend if you can.
However, we know most people cannot come to Chicago
for our conference, so we are looking for other ways
to connect. One way to expand our network is through blog exchanges
and by joining together in on-line forums.
Thus, we're inviting people who
are concerned about poverty, poor schools,
diversity, public health, or workforce development,
and who view tutor/mentor programs as a way to get
more adults involved in solving these problems, to
connect with us on line.
The
Tutor/Mentor Connection hosts a blog at
http://tutormentor.blogspot.com and we've created
communities in other places.
You can share ideas in the
T/MC
Forum, or join us at at
http://tutormentorconnection.ning.com
These are
just two examples of how you
can exchange ideas with us, and create your own
networking community, focused on your city, or the type
of tutoring/mentoring that you do.
During the May and November
conferences, or the August/September Volunteer
Recruitment Campaign, we encourage you to create
discussions which draw attention to
tutor/mentor programs in your own community at the same
time as we're drawing attention to programs in
Chicago.
If you include a link to
http://tutormentor.blogspot.com and/or
http://www.tutormentorconnection.org, we'll
add your link to the list of blog exchange partners,
and encourage people to visit your site and read
your blog, too.
Just email
tutormentor2@earthlink.net and tell us where
your blog is located. Or submit your link on the
T/MC Blog List hosted on our main web site.
