This is an extensive, content-rich website which, of course, is family-safe. Unlike many other websites of its kind, it attempts to address parent's concerns about 'the stranger in their midst' as well as giving them a frank assessment as to what they can honestly expect to achieve from the tuition. We have received many compliments from clients who didn't know where to turn and were worried about how complicated the process might be - until they came to our website. If we seem proud of it, it is simply that several person-years have gone into its production!


Arts In Illinois     www.artdiscovery.org     One of the education and community initiatives of the Goodman Theatre include Art Discovery, a collaboration between Kraft Foods and nine other Chicago arts organizations. All work together to provide teachers and students in the Chicago Public Schools with a variety of programs and projects that enrich their lessons and core subjects. The Goodman also runs two community-based Youth Drama Workshops each summer: the Goodman/Chicago Housing Authority Youth Drama Workshop at the Dearborn Homes, and the new Goodman/Yollocalli Youth Drama Workshop. In both programs, teenagers work with Goodman artists for six weeks to create and perform their own production at the end of the summer.

Grades 3-5 are provided Energy Detectives where they form Detective Agencies to solve The Great Energy Caper. Through the Great Energy Caper students explore ways of saving energy at home and school. GUYS READ Internet Site and Reccomended Reading List     www.penguinputnam.com/static/packages/us/yreaders/guysread/content6.html     Boys consistently score lower than girls on national reading and writing tests according to data from the National Center for Education Statistics. In an effort to engage boys in reading, former schoolteacher Jon Scieszka has launched an Internet initiative called Guys Read. The idea, says Scieszka, is to provide boys a place to meet and talk about reading. The core of the site is a database of guy tested and guy approved books.
