| Chicagoland Tutor/Mentor Volunteer Recruitment |
|
The Tutor/Mentor Institute is looking for volunteers to help collect and maintain the information in the Program Locator Directory of Chicago tutoring/mentoring programs, and to help build and maintain web platforms that others can use to find different places throughout the Chicago region where they can help. Help is also needed to organize the November and May Tutor/Mentor Leadership and Networking Conferences. Visit the Groups section of the Tutor/Mentor Forum and join a group that interests you. Since 1995 the Tutor/Mentor Connection has organized an annual volunteer recruitment campaign in Chicago to help all tutor/mentor programs attract volunteers. Review a pdf outlining Recruitment Campaign Goals: Recruitment Campaign. Learn about recruiting talent volunteers, and ways you can make the connection. Be a donor, and help programs provide support to volunteers and students. Every program where you or a friend volunteers is also looking for funding to pay expenses of supporting volunteers. Support programs with personal contributions, grants, workplace donations, bequests, et. Since each program needs to provide support for many years if the goal is to help kids finish high school, repeat your donations each year as long as the web site of the organization demonstrates that they continue to connect youth and volunteers on a continuous basis. One way you can take part in the T/MC volunteer recruitment campaign is by participating in a Blog Exchange with the T/MC and others who are recruiting volunteers, or by joining in on-line forums, such as http://tutormentorconnection.ning.com Volunteer Recruitment Training Presentation (pdf).
