Tutor/Mentor Connection 2014 Events

New Structure. Same Goals.

From 1992 through June 30, 2011 we aimed to tell the story of tutoring/mentoring, and its impact on kids and volunteers, so more people will give time, talent and dollars, on an on-going basis, to help programs like Cabrini Connections grow in Chicago and in other cities. We did this as part of a non-profit structure that also supported the Cabrini Connections. program.

We have faced a Decade of Challenges: 2000-2010. Read blog articles showing what T/MC  has achieved and challenges we've faced. View PDF report of 2000-2010

As a result, the Tutor/Mentor Connection was detached from the Cabrini Connections non-profit in July 2011 and the Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC was created to continue to support and develop the ideas that were funded solely through a non-profit structure in the past. This structure is still in development, but we have continued to host May and November conferences, and all of the resources of the Tutor/Mentor Connection, while expanding our network via social media in the years since 2011.

We seek to expand what we do to support tutor/mentor program growth in the entire Chicago region, however this report shows that the Tutor/Mentor Connection has had far fewer dollars to do this than do mentoring partnerships in 10 other cities/states. This conference video shows that leaders of other programs appreciate our support.

The Tutor/Mentor Institute is not a 501-c-3 non profit and the Tutor/Mentor Connection no loner operates under non-profit status.
If you value the information we share and our vision of supporting tutor/mentor programs in all high-poverty neighborhoods of Chicago and other urban areas, please consider becoming an investor, partner and/or volunteer to help build the Tutor/Mentor Institute and continue this work.
