Involvement of a volunteer in a tutor/mentor program is a form of Service-Learning.

The Tutor/Mentor Connection focuses on changing the volunteer as much as in influencing the youth.

This is because until adults do more of what is needed to help inner city kids grow up and enter career, there will be too few resources,
and too few programs, to significantly change the future for most  inner city  kids.
